VIOLENCE

Thye violent situation that swept many areas of South Africa has been covered by many news channels in both print and audio visual. The tragedy is that many peope lost their lives and others were displaced.  The hype of xenophobia hass been echoed by many people including many in government, the media, and ordinary people. The upper and  middle class were righteous in their condemnation of the incidents and they engaged in a flury of activities in collecting monies, food and clothing for the displaced people. Most of the displaced people are illegal immigrants. The displaced illegal immigrants fled into police stations and other community buildings. Clearly they could not stay there for a protracted length of time so, government acquired tents and began to move these illegal immigrants into some open spaces.

These open spaces are located near residences owned by upper and middle economic groups. A huge outcry has erupted by the two groups as they now claim that the illegal immigrants will commit crimes in their areas, their properties will devalue and they cite health risks to themselves and the environment.

I wonder why people are by nature such hypocrite?

Which country on earth allows illegal immigrants to flood their cities and rural areas?

Which country one earth permits illegal immigrants to enter teh  country at will?

Which country one earth allows criminals especially illegal immigrants to rob, rape and murder at will?

Which county will allow illegal immigrants to demonstrate in streets claiming, housing, eeducation, health care services, water and electricity while citizens are patient as they understand that the country comes from an apartheid past of over 350 years?

Does it mean these illegal immigrants think and believe that all South Africans are stupid and foolish morons who will be traumatized by them at will while an incompetent government dithers and their leading members fight for their political survival?

Do these illegal immigrants think that they can come into a country illegally, and do as they please?

Which people on earth will forever tell their government to take action against criminals and when government consistently fails to act in the best interests of their citizenss continue to accept their friends, relatives and immediate fammily members to be raped and murdered by unseen and undocumented people or for that matter by anyone?

Strange that no one seems to ascertain exactly what were the causes of the horrific violence that claimed 56 lives?

I also wonder why these people taht were affected did not go to their embassies and high commissions for help?

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH ZANELE MAGWAZA MSIBI

I had to interview this phenomenal individual and part of the interview is contained herein. The interview is very wide ranging and covered matters relating to Economics, Ideology, Military, Education, Health, HIV/AIDS, Unemployment, Housing, Crime, Elections, Religion, Public Representatives, Appointed Officials, Legislation,

In an exclusive interview with me, Ms Zanele Magwaza-Msibi the National Chairperson of the IFP Inkatha Freedom Party and executive Mayor of the Zululand District said: The IFP is very concerned about the material and spiritual welfare of all the citizens of South Africa, This sentiment is also supported and held by the President of the Party His Excellency Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.

Richard: Can you explain exactly what that means?

Zanele: The IFP is embarking on a concerted programme to meet with and consult with communities from all parts of the country to ascertain what their spiritual needs are.

Richard: Why are you doing that and why at this time?

Zanele: Most people are committed to one religion or another and the IFP would not be serving the people if we did not be aware of those needs and take measures to assist them. We started this consultation process over two years ago and its nearing its conclusion now.

Richard: Is this not an election ploy?

Zanele: No its not. If we fail to understand the needs of the people of SA then we are of no use to them. However as a responsible political party we are bound to have consultations with all members of our society and to that end we shall always develop our policies to meet with the needs of people. I must emphasize that we have no hesitation in stipulating that as a process we shall be happy to be advised by any person or entity that is interested in the development of our beautiful country.

Richard: Whose task is it in the IFP to conduct these consultations?

Zanele: It is essentially the tasks of the municipal councillors, other public representatives and party activists.

Richard: Do you not see a conflict in trying to engage the spiritual needs of people in terms of your being a political party?

Zanele: There is no conflict of interest. We do not prescribe specific religions or spirituality to any one; we will continue to respect all religious beliefs and value systems.

Richard: What were your main findings to date?

Zanele: Most people of Indian origin – that is those South Africans whose ancestors came from India and subscribe to the Hindu faith have expressed a deep interest and made requests that the IFP invite spiritual leaders like Sai Baba, Sri Ravi Shankar, and other to visit SA.

Richard: Is the IFP going to act on these requests, if so what will you be doing?

Zanele: we are going to invite the mentioned spiritual leaders to SA and we will hold a series of meetings all over the country with them if they agree to come to SA. As you are aware His Excellency Prince Buthelezi is a very devout Christian and he has deep respect for all spiritual leaders and he has stated that he will gladly host such spiritual leaders.

Richard: Are there many Hindus that support the IFP?

Zanele: Yes we have many Hindu members and supporters. His Excellency recently attended the Ganesha celebrations and remarked that it is not surprising that the symbol Ganesha is depicted by an elephant and the IFP logo is the only political party in South Africa that has an elephant on its logo.

                                                                                                2

Richard: Do you see that as significant?

Zanele: Yes it is very significant, when the logo was designed, the elephant was not viewed in the light of Hindu beliefs, but we were advised by Hindu’s of the significance of Ganesha to the Hindu and we respect and honour that.

Richard:  Has anyone asked you to consider changing the logo?

Zanele: No one has suggested that. We were encouraged to keep the logo as it is, and not consider changing it and to ensure that we make the logo more widely known.

Richard: Why has it taken so many years for the IFP to embark on this programme>

Zanele: It is easier o be wise with hindsight true we should have done this before, however , we  are a learning organization and we will act in accordance with the wishes of this sector of the community.

Richard:  Do you see any conflict in terms of religious beliefs and practices?

Zanele: There are many differences among religious beliefs however we are of the view that in as much as there is strength in unity there can be an equal if not more strength in diversity. So our aim is to use our differences to complement each other rather than use them as points of contention.

Richard: What impact do you anticipate this program will have on morality and value systems in SA?

Zanele: This program will have a huge and very positive impact on the country. We ought to be careful as what may be morally acceptable to one may be repugnant to another therefore we will proceed with caution and with great circumspection in encouraging the Christian to be the best Christian they can be, the Hindu to be the best Hindu they can be and so to all religious and spiritual people to be the best they ever can be.

Richard: Do you provide any training or workshops for your councillors to empower them to deal with religious and spiritual matters as they arise in the various communities they serve in?

Zanele: Yes we have frequent workshops and training sessions to enable our councillors and public representatives. We also have individual meetings and briefings, all councillors know that as the National Chairperson I have an open door policy that any councillor or any member of the party can have ready access to me. We have been spreading the message that all members of the public are free to communicate with me or my office at any time and we are delighted to interact with ordinary people. My office is not reserved for a particular sector of the community. If we fail to meet with people and communicate with them and listen to them then we will fail as a political party. The IFP is a party that is vitally concerned about the social, economic and political status of every South African.

Richard: What is your view about crime in the country?

Zanele: we are deeply concerned about the crime situation in the country. We are equally concerned that the central government appears to be unconcerned about this matter. It is one of the matters that affects every south African, equally we are concerned about the very high levels of unemployment, lack of housing and other infra structure, and lack of service delivery. On numerous occasions our part President His Excellency Prince Buthelezi stated that South Africa is being drawn into a crisis of governance because the central government is unable or does not have the political will to deal with the matters I refer to in this response. In fact at our recent General |Council meeting that was held in Ulundi His Excellency delivered a very powerful speech in this regard.

As far as we are concerned one rape is one too many, one murder is one murder too many. We do not like crime nor do we condone it in any form.

                                                                                                3

Richard: What more can the government do to deal with and reduce crime and if possible eradicate it?

Zanele: We have policy documents on all major matters and you are welcome to have copies of them, In summary I can say that government must train members of the police in a better way, provide more resources like communication equipment, more motor vehicles, safer buildings, the courts must be better secured, prosecutors must be better trained, more prosecutors must be employed, more police must be employed and a zero tolerance must be adopted to crime. Obviously all these measure must be taken and be in line with national and other pieces of legislation including the constitution.

Other building blocks to deal with crime includes cutting long grass that some criminals use to hide in, all street lights must be in working order, job creation must become a priority. The priority crimes will include rape, murder, robberies, drug offences, fraud, house breakings, theft of motor vehicles, all violent crimes. Other crimes that affect specific areas will also be a point of focus.

Richard: Your party is in control of 36 municipalities that means you govern those areas, what efforts are you making to prevent crime in those municipalities?

Zanele: As you are fully aware policing is a national competence. We have municipal policing in those areas and their prime function is traffic management. As you are also aware municipal traffic officers do not have a crime intelligence capacity as national legislation prohibits them from engaging in intelligence activities therefore we are in fact dependent on the South African Police Services to deal with crime. However our contribution is to ensure that communities actively participate in the Community Policing Forums and we try and maintain a very solid line of communication with the SAPS.

Richard: When you have made more progress in terms of inviting spiritual leaders from India to come to South Africa will you be willing to be interviewed again so that we can track progress in the matter.

Zanele: In as much as I have an open door policy to others I am available to you for interviews so you are most welcome to keep in contact with me.

Richard: I thank you for the time you allocated for this interview and trust that you will succeed in your quest,

ZIMBABWE

A neighbouring country to us called Zimbabwe had elections and now the counting and results of the elections is being announced piece meal. This is a relatively small country with an equally tiny population. Since its independence from Britain in 1980 numkerous reports of gross violations of human rights have been reported in one media or another. In 1980 Robert Mugabe the president of that country was the "sweetheart" of Britain and the USA so none of them made a fuss about the thousands of people that were killed. raped and injured by Mugabe. When Mugabe began to disposess the white of their farms and other ill gotten gains - then the "white" world led by Britain

and the USA began a campaign to discredit the said Mugabe. When black people were killed from 1980 and the killing spree continued unabated till 1988 not one of those countries said anything. Now this is nothing more than racism and hypocrisy of the highest order. Without doubt Mugabe is an evil man - What really irks me is that only when white people are affected then are we expected to jump onto the band wagon and condemn Mugabe. The catholic church in that country documented a series of incidents and complied a report called the Silent Genocide. It was one of the few organizations that reported on events in that country consistently.   I do not condont Mugabes actions whether against black or white he is wrong. I am still amazed at how many people from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and other African countries including South Africa are so brain washed that they still avidly display the salve mentality. The slave mentality manifests itself by viewing white as good, competent and intelligent and black as bad, incompetent and stupid. How often do we see adverts saying: looking for a "fair" groom or bride? How often is it that women that are dark skinned are discriminated against in terms of employment opportunities? Marriages? Friendships? How often in everyday conversations the term "fair: meaning light skinned is equated with beauty and handsomeness? If any of you that read this post if guilty of this slave mentality - SHAME ON YOU

DREAMS

A man that I did not particularly like recently passed away ( died) I have my own reasons for disliking this individual while he was alive. Today I went home very early as I had to attend to ssome matters till 3am and was quite tired. I dramt that this man was in my car driving along a busy road. I saw a car in front of me driven by someone that I know and I asked the now deceased man if he wanted to be in the car with that other man - he said no - he prefers to drive with me. He did not know the person  in the other car in real life and yet he accurately explained that mans character.  We drove further along the road and we arrived at a shopping centre - he then said that he wanted to go to his wife. The person he went to wwas not his wife in real life. I woke up wondering :

1. What does this dream mean?

2. Does it have a meaning?

3. Why would this man that I did not really like appear to me in a dream before appearing in a dream to any of his immediate family?

4.  Was it just because I helped him when he was alive even though I did not like him?

5. Why did he not appear in dream to any of his family?

****** Whenever I dream of my late father (deceased) if I am confronted with any matter if its a problem it vanishes without me having to do anything to resolve that problem. I know what dreaming of my later father means.

***** Does anyone know?????

WOMEN AND MINI SKIRTS

Recently woman wore a mini skirt and went to a taxi rank to board a traxi in Johannesburg. A taxi driver  accompanied by some others assaulted this wonman and tore her skirt. A similar incident happened in a place called Germiston. In Kwa Zulu Natal in a certain place called Umlazi women are harassed when they wear pants. Now many privately say these women should not wear mini skirts nor should they wear pants.

In another country perhaps women are expected to cover themselves and look like ninja turtles or cover themselves from head to foot. In South Africa we have many different religious beliefs and cultures and people are permitted to dress accordingt o their own values system. Is ist correct for taxi drivers of all people to dictate howm women should dress? In SA taxi trivers are generally not regarded in a good light due to their atrocious road conduct.

The question that arises should men dictate to women how they should dress? Who dictates to men how they should dress?  Should women be allowed to dress according to their own inclinations? I wonder how many neanderthal men will come out of the wood work and how many hypocrites will pontificate while they secretly watch naked women on the internet? What do you think?

STEALING

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING - IF THEY WERE?

Last year a group of discovered that the Board of Trustees of a certain pension fund were busy mismanaging, allocating contracts to unqualified people, living a life of luxury at the expense of members of the fund, took decisions at meetings other than board meetings and signed resolutions purporting to have taken them at BOT – ( Board of Trustee) meetings, excluded the administrators from the meetings, signed bank application documents to open a banking account, then denying that those were their signatures, paid themselves very hefty allowances that I will detail herein. they did all this and claimed that they were prudent in managing the fund…..

An investigation revealed that they: received between R 251 000.00 and R112 000.000 (R = rands) multiply that by at least 5 to obtain the rupee equivalent) over a period of seven months.

After we uncovered these criminal acts the BOT sought to justify their actions and claim that they were the victims of a conspiracy. The monies paid out to them is documented and it leads right to their personal banking accounts.

We further discovered that the PEO – Principal executive Officer – similar to the CEO had applied for a credit card with a credit value of R 75 000.00 and that he claimed traveling expenses to the value of R 80 000.00 over the same period described above.

We took the following measures:

The PEO is charged with fraud – he is on the run now – we anticipate his arrest will follow very shortly

The BOT members are to be dismissed without any further ado

They too will be subject to criminal charges

A different BOT will be elected.

The rules of the fund have to be amended to prevent similar incidents from occurring

The amendments will include various safe guards that are not found in the current rules.

Members are to be found in every municipality in the country and the fund has a value of approximately R1b

We are currently exploring what measures we should take to recover monies lost through any action taken by the BOT.

This matter will be raised in the National Parliament to the relevant Minister who must provide answers to the questions posed.

Several prominent people have been asked for comment.

Ok that’s what happened. Those are some of the actions we took.

Whatever opinion you may express if it contradicts the measures we took will not change those… I would welcome suggestions as to what other measures we should consider….

I am trying to understand whether or not these people thought they could commit such acts and not be caught….especially when there are people like us? Astonishing to say the least.

REACTION TO MY SPEECH

I spoke before a group of about 200 people . All senior and most very responsible and committed people. There was absolute silence and some muted clapping. However no one could contradict anything I said. Most of the people came to me afterwards and said that these are just some of the things that they would have liked to say but certain constraints prevent then from doing so.
